You can design and deliver a fantastic course, but if learners go back to work and nothing changes, what’s the point?
Here are three practical tips to help training stick:
1. Have learners create an action plan. When they write down how they’ll apply their new skills, it helps make it real and gives them something to refer to on the job.
2. Talk through potential obstacles. Before the session ends, discuss what might get in the way of learners using their new skills and brainstorm solutions to overcome those challenges.
3. Follow up and celebrate success. Check in with learners after the session to see what actions they’ve taken, then share those wins with the group to keep motivation high.
With these tips, you can turn training into lasting change!

Frances,
Wow! What a testimonial! Thank you for your kind words. I love that you’re still enjoying training even in retirement. Having the opportunity to work with learners like you is the most rewarding part of my job. Wishing you all the best.
Love these tips! I have been a student with Marsha in many of your classes and she is great! I have learned so much and still love being a trainer and applying what I have learned even after I have retired!
