Here is our master trainer, Melissa Satterfield, sharing three tips for virtual classroom trainers. Melissa discusses how important it is to engage your learners every 3-5 minutes when conducting training in the virtual classroom. It’s also important to vary your rate of speech, aim for 140-175 words per minute. Lastly, you’ll want to smile when you’re facilitating—your learners will hear it come through in your voice. If you would like to learn more tips and techniques to use when facilitating in the virtual classroom, attend The Virtual Trainer workshop. In just one short week, you’ll gain the skills and confidence you need to successfully facilitate synchronous virtual training within your organization.

Hey Melissa…. Vicki Frucci here from Wash. St. Dept. of Transportation…. I took a few courses from in the early 2000’s, and I’ve tapped into you over the years for questions or resource checks, and yes, I’m still working at WSDOT (37 years to be exact). I just love what I do. In 2009-10 I also took up eLearning as a delivery method. That was interesting, and a good test of how well I could develop content to be stand alone, clear and complete so there would be minimal or no questions to answer by phone or email. I love change and to learn. And then…. now, as many stand up trainers have done recently, I too have turned to developing my skills to the next delivery method to equip my learners at the Agency. So, now looking to Langevin to help me prepare to continue training while many people are still in virtual settings for us in Washington State. And I… really like that, so yep, I’m happy to report, I’m in for a while more. I again, was very excited to see your name at still at Langevin and associated with the Virtual Instructor Led training. I look forward to maybe working with you again through this new path for me. I saw you on the video tips and you still look like you smiley self from years ago. Take care and I hope to see/hear from you soon. Vicki Frucci Cheers!!
