This workshop will provide you with the practical skills and strategies needed to create engaging, impactful, and balanced hybrid learning experiences for both in-person and remote learners.

You will learn a structured, step-by-step design process tailored for hybrid environments, from identifying constraints and determining practice requirements, to selecting appropriate methods, media, and tools. Through hands-on exercises, case studies, and group discussions, you’ll apply these skills to real-world scenarios. You will return to work with helpful job aids, including worksheets for determining practice requirements, designing presentation and application methods, and developing comprehensive lesson plans. By the end of this workshop, you will feel confident in your ability to design effective training that provides equal engagement for a hybrid audience.

  • When to discuss practice requirements and learner competence expectations with the client.
  • How to address situations where performance-based practice is desired but not feasible.
  • How to select the most appropriate presentation, application, and feedback methods for each hybrid strategy.

  • Strategies for using in-class or remote partners to support method execution.
